survival of the fittest?!?

i'm flabbergasted by religious sheeple who claim a loving and perfect god created our world and that everything was just hunky dory until humans abused 'free will' and introduced 'sin'. the ignorance and irrationality of this view is beyond words.

it seems even the most rational of our kind are prone to running down the human species in a somewhat similar manner, as george carlin did in the following youtube clip from one of his performances. here's a comment i just left there, along with the link:

'i love george carlin, consider him to be one of the most brilliant american comics and a great truthteller. this clip of him would be one of my favorites if not for the first minute in which he seems to be somewhat confused in claiming humans to be the only species which kills.
anyone familiar with the behavior of other large predator species like wolves and lions knows this to be, in a phrase george himself would use, stunningly full of shit!. male lions will kill the cubs of another male when they take over his territory, so that the female will go into estrus and they then can impregnate her with their own cubs. and in a nature documentary on pbs about arctic wolves, it's stated that the greatest danger these wolves face is from their own kind. different packs will fight and kill each other over territory, and even raid each other's dens to kill the young there. these are just 2 examples. so while it's true that humans are killers, we're hardly unique in that respect.'

it seems that the most essential trait a predatory animal can possess in order to survive is ruthlessness. not intelligence, or anything else. ruthlessness. a determination to survive and get one's genes into future generations at the expense of others, no matter how high that expense to others may be. does this (sur)reality, this ruthlessness, suggest that our world was created by a loving and perfect god??? i think not!

ruthlessness supercedes intelligence in this time of human population overshoot, resource depletion and degradation, climate disruption, etc., including the insane idea that a finite planet can support infinite population and economic growth of our species, and all the deceit, mayhem, and murder that the most powerful of our kind are responsible for, clearly it's the most ruthless, and not the most intelligent among us who rule over this tragic, ill fated world. Just as clearly, in the absence of intelligence, ruthlessness alone is (eventually) a one way ticket to oblivion.
